Webmaster Competition Rules
- Microsoft FrontPage2000,
running on a Windows 98 client platform will be utilized. The default tools,
installed automatically when FrontPage installs itself as a "Typical
Installation", are the only features that will be available.
- Contestants will be required
to develop a corporate intra/internet system and submit their URL to the
competition supervisor at the conclusion of the contest time period.
Contestants will also be required to copy their entire web onto diskette at
the end of the competition to demonstrate portability. The judges will
install these webs on a new server for evaluation.
- All HTML/Java/ActiveX elements
supported by Frontpage 2000 may be utilized in the development of the
application. Each team will have their own web on the server, which will be
running Microsoft NT 4.0 and the Microsoft IIS HTTP server software
supporting Active Server Pages.
- SPECIAL NOTE: Each team will
have to create an empty Microsoft Access database (data cannot be stored in
text files) in their web directory, their own "File DSN" (for ODBC
use) and set up their own connection string. Sample code for creating the
File DSN and connection string can be found on the FrontPage Webmaster
